WALKER COUNTY, Georgia (WDEF) – A Walker County Sheriff’s Deputy and three others are recovering after a serious crash Saturday evening.

The Georgia State Patrol, Walker County Sheriff’s Office, and various EMS companies responded to the scene just before 7 pm Saturday.

Corporal Andrew Gideon with the Georgia State Patrol said the sheriff’s deputy was driving, with one passenger, northbound on Highway 27 near Highway 151 intersection.

Corporal Gideon says a passenger vehicle was traveling south on Highway 27 before trying to turn left onto Highway 151.

This is when the passenger hit the deputy’s vehicle.

Witness say the passenger vehicle spun around before finally stopping in northbound lanes.

Corporal Gideon says the deputy has a fractured leg and his passenger was also injured in the crash.

The driver and a passenger in the other passenger vehicle were also injured.

A 3-year-old was in the car, but was not injured.
