Woman Charged With 3 Counts of Attempted Murder
It all started yesterday afternoon.
Numerous calls came in to the Chattanooga Police Department in reference to a woman driving with a gun and firing rounds into vehicles.
45 year old Julia Shields reportedly shot into at least two vehicles in the area of 13-hundred Cloverdale Drive.
Officers located Shields in her vehicle in a church parking lot where she fled the scene.
Shields led Officers down Highway 153 and Hixson Pike where she pointed her firearm at several other motorists as she passed them.
An anonymous witness says she’s never seen anything like this.
"Our neighborhood is really quiet and usually we have no problems what so ever with anything…breaking in, shootings, anything of that nature. It was kind of like she just held it out like I have it here it is! It was almost like that."
The pursuit ended at the intersection of Cloverdale Drive and Koblan Drive where Shields pointed her firearm at an Officer.
Shields was taken into custody and found to be wearing body armor during the incidents.
Shields faces three counts of Attempted First Degree Murder and other felony charges.
