Emily’s List of Weekend Activities – August 31, 2018

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (WDEF) — There’s a lot to do in Chattanooga and in nearby cities this Labor Day weekend.

If you want to check out a ’90s music throwback show, head over to the Signal Friday night to see Jimmy Eat World.

The band is affiliated with many genres, including alternative and indie rock, and pop punk.

The show starts at 8:30 p.m.

Westerns aren’t just for TV and the movies.

Make a trip to Summerville, Georgia on Saturday for the Cowboy/Western Heritage Festival.

There, you can celebrate western traditions and the cowboy lifestyle with cowboy reenactments, a tent saloon, plus vendors selling period clothing and more.

The event starts at 9 a.m. at the Summerville Depot.

Say goodbye to summer with a hot air balloon ride near Atlanta, or just watch them in the air this weekend.

The 20th Hot Air Balloon Festival is underway.

There’s evening balloon glows, live music, family-friendly activities, and food and drink specials.

Activities are happening all day Saturday and Sunday at the Callaway Gardens.

If you have to head back to work on Monday for Labor Day, you can wrap up your holiday weekend with a fireworks show at Nashville Shores.

You get two shows in one, with explosions in the sky, and reflections of the colors on the lake.

The show starts at around 8:45 p.m. Central Time, Sunday.
