Fort Payne couple faces extortion charges over ambulance service

FORT PAYNE, Alabama (WDEF) – The Fort Payne Police have charged a local couple with extortion.

51-year old Timothy Wade Bevel is a former Dekalb Ambulance Service employee.

Detectives say he and his wife, Shelli Ranee Bevel, attempted to extort money from Dekalb Ambulance Service Director Cheryl Turner.

The charge is Extortion in the second degree.
