Hixson Powerball player wins $50k

HIXSON, Tenn. (WDEF) – Five Tennessee Powerball players won big in Saturday night’s drawing, according to the Tennessee Lottery.

The Tennessee Lottery says the five winners included $50,000 winners in Hixson, Kingsport, and Mosheim and $150,000 winners in Memphis and Alcoa.

The players matched four numbers plus the Powerball, which has a base prize of $50,000, while the $150,000 winners paid the extra dollar to add the Power Play multiplier, the Tennessee Lottery explains.

According to lottery officials, $687.8 million Powerball jackpot was won by a player in New York and one in Iowa, who will split the prize.
