McMinn Central Football Coach Derrick Davis Steps Down

McMinn Central head football coach Derrick Davis is stepping down to take an assistant’s job at Rhea County.

According to Davis, he felt it was time to step back from all the responsibilities and long hours of being a head coach. Davis coached the Chargers for two seasons, and last November, McMinn Central beat Brainerd for their first region victory in four years.

Before going to McMinn Central, Davis was the head coach at his high school alma mata Polk Co for nearly two decades.
