Chattanooga PD Eyes ShotSpotter System to Fight Crime
There's a new tool that could change the way police fight crime in violent cities like Chattanooga. It's called ShotSpotter. It's a system of microphones hidden in buildings that pick up the sound of gunfire and pinpoint the location. So, rather than waiting for a 911 call, police can now respond to a crime within seconds. WDEF News 12's Alisha Searl tells us if Chattanooga Police Chief Fred Fletcher thinks it's a good idea for the community.
