Nightfall Preview: Band of Ruhks

Chattanooga (WDEF) – Nightfall continues through Riverbend.

And this Friday, we get a Bluegrass Supergroup of sorts.

The Band of Ruhks is a band put together by Ronnie Bowman, Don Rigsby, and Kenny Smith.

They all played together in the Lonesome River Band in the 90’s.

Singer Ronnie Bowman was in Lost and Found, and he co-wrote hits for Kenny Chesney and Brooks and Dunn.

Mandolin player Don Rigsby has provided the high tenor vocals for the Bluegrass Cardinals, J.D. Crowe & the New South and Longview.

And guitarist Kenny Smith has recorded duo albums with his wife, Amanda.

They also got a little help from Ralph Stanley on the first single off the new release.

The Band of Ruhks perform at 8PM Friday night at Miller Plaza.

The opening act Friday will be Chattanooga’s own Fletcher Bright and the Dismembered Tennesseans.

They take the stage at 7PM.

Here is a video we put together from a Nightfall show a few years back.
