Second Annual Holiday on Hamill Event in Hixson
CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (WDEF)- The holiday spirit was on full display in Hixson today. The second annual Holiday on Hamill Christmas Event was held at The Ministry Center Church on Hamill Road.
Guests could shop and eat at vendors, play on bouncy houses with axe throwing in the mix, and visit Santa Claus. They were also asked to bring in toy donations for the Forgotten Child Fund.
The marketing coordinator, Tiffany Miller, said that, “We actually decided to do this as a fundraiser for our church to do ministry in the Chattanooga area, so this is what it’s for. Everything that we are making here, is going to do ministry out in the streets of the Chattanooga area.”
An attendee, Gary Winthorpe, said that, “Heard about this event coming up. My mom told me about it, and my girlfriend wanted to go. We heard there was going to be a lot of vendors here, and we were looking forward to it this weekend despite the rain. It’s still pretty good though, we’re looking forward to seeing everyone and everybody and having a great time.”
The church had already raised over two thousand dollars from church members and vendors even before the doors opened this morning. The Ministry Center also hosts public events for Easter and Halloween.
