TDFN: South Pittsburg at Marion County

Tennessee Valley (WDEF) — You don’t need any extra juice for the annual showdown between Marion County and South Pittsburg.

But for the first time in the history of the rivalry tonight, the Warriors and Pirates clashed as top ranked teams.

Marion County is number one in Class 2-A, while South Pitt is number one in Class A.

It was a packed house – standing room only crowd!

South Pitt went up 16-0 early and were giving the warriors no running room.

When there is no room on the ground, you take to the air – Isiah Sampson hooks up with Jacob Saylors.

That hook up was so nice, they did it twice. Saylors made his way into the end zone and pulling Marion back into the game making the score 16 to 6.

But South Pitt was unphased. They just continued to roll through the Warriors defense until Garrett Raulston broke though the end zone for a touchdown to make the score 22 to 6.

Warriors trying to keep pace – they had to try to score and score quick.

Sampson looking for Nick Capps but Sam Brown had other plans as he intercepted the ball setting the Pirates up with another chance to score

When you run and run and run, it’s time to switch it up and pass.

Jaylyn Hubbard looking for Cade Kennamore who juggles it, then waltzes into the end zone.

That was all she wrote for Marion County.

South Pitt dominated this one from start to finish on their way to a 56 – 18 win
